I ordered a 2-nd gen fuel pump for my 93 12 valve. Got around to taking the old diaphram one off and looking at how the
2-nd gen piston pump would fit. First thing I see is that the flange/base of the new pump is sloped at about a 30 degree angle
.......... if I turn it so that the plunger seems to be on the cam- the outlet is hitting the plastic thing which covers the valve pushrod side plate cover. if I turn it 180 degrees so the outlet points down instead of up- it looks like the plunger is now where near the cam ...... is there a wedge shaped spacer that need to go in between ? Seems like I must be missing something here somewhere...... can somebody clue me in ? ( I will deal with changing the spring out once I understand the fit-up)
Is the cam just really highly eccentric and I am seeing it from the 90 degrees from TDC ? ( so it appears off center)
