More lobster stories for you guys.

These 3 boats were sunk last night in a local harbor. Its so much fun being a lobsterman.

A few years ago I had the wires ripped out of my pumps and almost lost a boat.

So are y'all really just hatin' on one another up there or what? That's really messed up. :?

What's the root of the problem, too many lobstermen, not enough lobsters, politics, what?

Its all over territory. Like a dog pisses all over his turf. Every harbor has to fight for fishing grounds.
There is always fights over where each town should stop. Of coarse most fisherman blend into other towns " WATERS ".

I have had boats charge mine at full throttle. ( CHICKEN ) I always won!. I told my wife once to get ready to jump overboard because I was not going to flinch when he was comming at me. I have had bait thrown at me. :D Had people come along side and want to fight.

Then of coarse the newbies get just slaughtered. There has been 4 or 5 guys try to get established and it is very hard to do. They are no longer fishing. Sometimes a fisherman from other waters will come in and cut some traps to start a trap war between local fisherman. It causes lots of issues. I had a boat moored next to mine burn one night and it was so hot you could not touch my boat. It burned up pretty good. Fire marshall said it "COULD" have been a wire issue. Who knows. The next town over a guy lost his boat to fire and when he was out of town his house burned flat.

One night a islander had his boat tied up in the harbor over here. Somebody crapped in his boat. They also pissed all over his wheelhouse. He did not realise they pooped until he got in his car and smelled something nasty on his shoes.

Boy, I could go on forever.

Traps cut by the hundreds, skiffs cut loose, having someone go on the boat and make a mess. It has been pretty tame here for a few years. In a whole our harbor is a good bunch of guys. Friends with them all. We only have 6 fisherman out of our harbor.

Another good pic of a boat aground. I headed out in the fog one day and drove by this boat sunk up to the windshield. They dragged it in at high tide. This was taken at low tide. This was due to owner error. the boat sat for weeks and the batterys went dead then sank. To this day the boat has sat with salt water in the whole drivetrain. Its been a couple years. It is for sale real cheap. 8)

And another boat that broke free in a storm and went aground.
