Proposed town law

Postby Richie O » Fri Nov 20, 2009 10:01 am

Our wonderful town is going to discuss the use of Jake Brakes. Some of the beautiful coolaid drinking prius drivers want them outlawed. " We don't like the noise." What would they like better, a little noise or there kid stuck under the tires because the brakes were overheated due to the law. Some people don't get it. I hope the selectman defeat it.

my town has it. it reduced the use of them some, but not even close to completely. it never bothered me any, and i live on one of the two highways going thru the middle of town.

i still used my pacbrake with no trouble, but its an exhaust brake and not a jake. huge difference on the noise end.

Take some of the board members for a ride and show them how it works. That will get them thinking. The ones that are really bad don't have mufflers on. ;)

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Better not take my truck then. Been running the ole 3406 with no muffler this year. :D One of the board members ( built a 48 Ford F6 with a 1 ton cummins chassis and driveline ) is against it. I am sure he will give them a earful.

Only if they outlaw subwoofers in the same bill. IMHO, subs are worse than jakes.
