1990 W250 Worht it?

Postby Bad93Cummins » Tue Mar 30, 2010 12:35 pm

Truck runs great, rebuilt tranny, 5 speed. Front spider gear and power steering pump need replacing. Tranny/T-case rebuilt 20,000 miles ago. Truck has 325,000. Lift 3" on 35 BFG's. Used as farm truck but was daily driven for years, but him and his cousion have 4 other diesel dodges so doesn't get used much. Motor runs great and doesn't leak. Worth $1500?

Depending on the market down there, you could get your $$ back easy parting the engine, tranny/transfer, and axles.

But I'd run the nuts off if personally. :D

I would also say it is very worth $1500. Up here any rust free 4x4 is worth at least 2500 weather it is a gasser or a diesel. but people just pay crazy money for things that are definatly not worth it also. ORDER UP MAN!

Unless I'm mistaken, the only trucks with Dana "61"'s were trucks equipped with 3.07 gears. All the other 4wd's should have a Dana 60 in the front and a D70 in the rear.

$1500?
I wouldn't have had to ask, it'd be in the back yard already!
I have sold the transfer case and 5 speed trannies as a conversion for $1500, with the trans needing rebuilt.

I could sell a couple more, if I didn't need a set-up for a very involved upcoming project.

Housing offset is different on both the 61 and the 3.07 Dana 70s.

A Dana 70 with the 3.07s is easy to spot in a pile, there's an extra machined spot on the top right of the diff cover surface.

There's some Ford and Dodge (Van?) applications that used D-61s with 3.54, 3.73 and 4.10s, but I only started paying attention a couple years ago on the 61s.
Haven't seen too many.
