I drove a sidewalk plow once with a 2722 industrial ford diesel on 90 % gas. She ran real good. One of the guys said it was not running right. I soon found out why. He put gas in it. He didn't know it was a diesel. Drove it in the shop and drained it. She was good to go.

my roomate recently "maned up", in his words, and bought a 2000 something 7.3 ford and brought it to the gas station later that day and filled it with 89 octane.... darn cheep diesel but it didnt run good at all....about once a day he tells me about the cool programmer hes going to buy....after the shop gets it back to him....

I would, in a heartbeat. I've got to relocate the air filter on my old 90. I've had it deep enough that the water put out the fire! A buddy drug me out of the water hole, I pulled 3 injectors out in the timber, cranked it over until the water was out, and put the injectors back in. Primed it and drove around that hole!

Imagine that video, with a 1st gen exhaust tone, two 5" flat top stacks behind the cab, against the 3200 rpm governor spring. Its music to my ears, and poetry in motion.

One time we were out wheeling, and my buddy stuck his truck. I hooked on and yanked and yanked. When my buddy's truck was free I looked around, and there were probably 50 people standing around watching. One guy said "We thought someone had their Peterbilt stuck out here in the woods, so we decided to come and see."

there are actually some guys here who had dodge trucks long before the cummins was in them. i've been through 22 rams and 5 have had diesels. crews, clubs, singles, duallys, 2wd, 4wd, step sides (how many here can say that?), round headlamps and square, big block and small block (and the occasional slant 6 ). even a couple built before 72 (sweptlines). they have all been great trucks. problem is when i get one built like i want it someone else wants it worse.

i love reading the "i bought a cummins and a dodge came with it", or "i wish they would've used this engine in a ford or chevy". i always laugh. to each his own i guess.

dodge lover 1st, cummins 2nd.
