I mite have the worst story, i just found out lastnight my 17yr old girl is expecting, that,s going to change the rest of her life, I feel so bad that she,s going to miss her last year of school. We will home school her so she gets her GED. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad I am very over protective and still had no idea she was sexualy active. Confused please give me some uplifting words of wisdom.

Ugh. Who's the lucky daddy? He needs to suffer too.

Takes two to tango, Dodgeboy. Not to say the father shouldnt hold up his end of the deal, but it aint all his fault.

No matter how "good" you raise them, they are going to go their own way for a while when they get to a certain age, so one just has to prepare for it.

At least she's having her first child in a (hopefully) loving home, where there will be some more mature people to make sure diapers get changed, the baby fed, etc. Plus, you can get an early jump on spoiling the child rotten- PAYBACK. Just dont let her slide on the discipline when the child tries to do the same things around her.

Hey puckett i know this very well, if he would have forced himself on her he would already be eatin through a straw, but it,s as much her fault as his thats the only thing keepin him safe. i,m only 43 i still remember what it,s like as a teenager, and what they think about most of the time. but she is my baby soooooooooooooo.

By suffering, I mean, get a job, and support his kid.

AND, IMO, it is 100% BOTH their faults! ;)

Helpful advice, get her on birth control as soon as you can after the baby is born. That will prevent a repeat. Hopefully.
There is a girl in my neighborhood that's 14 and sexually active. Been with 3 or 4 boys already. The girl next door, who's her friend, said she started in september. Shoot, that's 1 a month!
You never know with kids these days. The peer pressure is awful, some of the guys have been chasing after the girl next door too. She's only 15.

Pete we thought about birth control but i thought it would just give her the green light to go ahead and sex it up,looks like the light turned anyway, i realy thought she was smarter than that, i mean number 2 in her class FFA almost every weekend vollyball you name it she was involved and i thought had a good head on her shoulders but i guess our comunication wasn,t as good as i thought. heck she was going to go to a diesel tech collage. i figgured being a girl she could get a job anywhere she wanted. She saved for 3 years to buy her own truck, it aint a 1st gen but its a very nice Z71 GMC short bed, looks like now its going to be a baby hauler.

I remember some FFA national conventions. Things went on there that one would not want to get in front of the Sunday congregation and tell about. Of course, I had absolutely no part in the debauchery.

Some people just dont think it can happen to them, doesnt matter what it is- addiction, pregnancy, getting caught driving drunk, etc. It is likely nothing you did or didnt do. Parents cant be around 24/7 to protect their kids. And if they are, the kids resent the parents for being overbearing and the lack of privacy.

My grandmother was widowed in '61 with 5 kids, aged 5-13. They all had the same discipline, same rules, chores, went to the same school, etc. The first 3 turned out to be respectable "good kids" one would expect of a professional (He was a pharmacist in Kirkwood MO in the 40s and 50s) famly. The 2nd to last was a little wild- had a drug arrest or two, smoked a little home-grown, hung around a not-so-great crowd at times, and the last one went super wild. Had a child at 15, was into drugs, partying, and I dont know what else. They both cleaned up by the time they were 25, and they are actually doing better financially and emotinally than the older ones who were "good kids." It may not be so bad after all. God has a funny way of making our lives better sometimes.

And Pete, how do you know about all the sexual activity of the teenage girls in the neighborhood? And the Playboy calendar tragedy you sent was just gross, man.  I should have known, coming from you, there'd be a beached whale in a leotard somewhere. And I was not disappointed. :pukel:

I just realized something else, what about the father? Is he a drug addict? Jock? what?

I have found most kids these days are lazy. They have been so trained to sit and watch reality shows, and dink doink on their X BOX's that actually going out and doiing something is unheard of.

DP,I try to keep up on things. The 14 yo girl I mentioned is a DD. Kinda hard not to notice those. There's another one running around here like that too.
And I'm disappointed! I fully expected an e-mail telling me how bad that Playboy thing really was. ;) I haven't heard from Bill yet, I bet he fell in love.

1stgenfarmboy, don't expect much from the "dad" if he's like that. He may turn out to be a great father and be there for the child, and we all hope he will, but it sounds like he's not going to stick with anything.
