What did you end up getting for injectors? Did you get more from Scheid or someone else?

Eric set me up with some Bosch 5x18 SACs, flow-honed to match the flow of the Scheid 6x16 VCOs I'd been running, plus some pintle work.

They're easy to smoke with a light load, no boost, below 1800 engine rpm. Let's face it, low injection pressures (relatively speaking) through a large hole don't atomize well with small spurts.

On the other hand, at WOT, they clean up much better, and a little cooler compared to the 6x16s, all else the same. Combined with some funky injection event timing stuff, they seem to pull up through the rpms QUICK!

I've had them for some months now, mostly driving to, and from the coast during the weekends. The overall mpg is up (roughly 16mpg) with perhaps 150 miles of the tank at 75 ~ 80 mph, compared to the 6x16s.

Still gotta do some more stuff with the IP. 8)

The local 8th mile track, formally known at The Dunn-Benson Drag-strip, has been bought by Galot Motorsports. http://galotmotorsports.com/

-> They have deep pockets.

The track is now called The Galot Motorsports Park. http://www.galotmotorsportspark.com/

In a nutshell, they've ripped up the old track, and built it like one ought to be. Lanes plenty wide, proper barriers, full concrete strip.

They've even included a track surface temperature control system (embedded heating/cooling for the first 300').

Freshly placed left lane, next to the ready to be placed right lane. Note the Dodge truck for size reference

Hope I don't phuck it up with an oil slick.

Nothing a little $$ can't fix, I'm looking into building it a little bit since I'm down this far. Definitely going with a 686 big bore, but whether to stroke it to a 720...

I recall running there with snow on the ground. As long as the track was clear, it was on!

From what I gather, they are pretty easy going, which is good because that means they probably won't ban me for life at the whiff of diesel fuel. On the other hand, track prep is supposedly non-existent. I suppose it wouldn't be a big deal with a live front axle, but that I don't have.

It's an extra 4mm of stroke, so it'll be just like Hiney.

The RC is chilling out right now. Nice weather showed up and it's tough for me to stay cooped up in the garage long enough to finish it. I did throw the front driveshaft in it and drive it outside for a pic, then pulled it back in. Haven't touched it since.

I need to pull it to another bay where I can get a forklift to the rear so I can swap the rear axle, then I just need to bleed the brakes, put the body stuff back on, and have a rear DS made. It should be a driver then.
