I'm interested. Gotta get a new one anyways and I have to cables already. But I can swap ends if need be. I was thinking a dry cell battery would be nice, but I couldn't find one with over 950 cca

It's a NAPA battery. BAT-7234. 31 group size. It does have threaded posts on it, but they make normal lead posts that thread on it. That's what I have because I had the cables made a day before before I bought the battery. Otherwise I'd have eyes on both ends.

Guess it looks like only Acid batteries come with the right size for higher CCA's. I see Deka makes one too.
Now, maybe I should go with two Group 65's dry cells in parallel

Some interesting info I just found out.
I was wondering why NAPA Group 31 batteries were rated better than O'Reillys or Advance Auto for grins and giggles I did some research.

NAPA batteries (1250 CA & 1125 CCA) are now made by East Penn Manufacturing, known for their Deka batteries (the ones I mentioned in my previous post)
O'Reilly Super Start batteries (950 CCA & 1125 CA) are made by...yup, East Penn Manufacturing, also Deka batteries

So what I'm wondering is if they both are identical but labeled differently for warranty purposes

I really don't like public transit. Like right now I'm sitting in a packed train going the wrong way, and when I finally get to go the right way I won't be able to get to my stop because of power outages. If parking at school weren't so dam expensive I'd take my 4th gen, but I didn't today and now I'm a little p.o'd

I've been on the Canadian rail road four separate times. It was quite an experience

I run a Case (exide) group 31 that was a warranty battery from a loader. (I got a pair of them) The battery was ok, something else was wrong with the machine. Had it for 4 years now. I bought a set of Carquest batteries for the '97, 2 weeks later a big thread shows up on TDR about the CARQUEST batteries outgassing and dirty terminals and stuff. 1 of them was just a month out of warranty when it went bad that the prorate was 1/2 the cost. I said screw it and put the other Case battery in the truck. Last fall I got a set of 950 cca Dekas for it, always starts and no problems.

My battery is like 950cca, never failed to start my truck. I don't see a reason to beat myself up over 200cca that I don't need. :P

Anyway, we've got a buddy that's a teamster and we're always feeding him sthi when he screws up driving. He got a trailer awhile back and tried to back it in his driveway. One how or another, he ended up about 40ft down over the hill beside his driveway with a spring right in the middle of it.

We made him this.

Also, he drives a Powerstroke. A 6.0 Powerstroke. What a loser.
