Levi, what model Buell is that? I've been looking at bikes again and there are a few Buells around here for sale. A bunch of the Blast model, but I'm not interested in those. :P

That is a nice bike. I prefer Ducati's though if I'm honest. More interesting valve actuation method

'08 XB12Scg. The short-guy model of the XB12s.

I bought an '03 XB9S"L" (1stgen Scg) that was wrecked to learn on, and I'd honestly still prefer it in the extreme twisties. You can download all free software to tune the 03-07 bikes for free, and the '9 has never scared me. The '12 I have now is actually capable of picking the front tire up from a crappy throttle choice in 1st gear, and I've had it push a couple times in hairpins from too much throttle.

The '9 is smooth as silk, I'd kill to take it out and thrash the hell out of it. I "gave" it to the old lady as a learner bike, so I can't take "her" crap out and rape the guts out of it like I do mine.

Pete, I'd highly recommend an XB"S". They sit you up a little straighter that the "R" models, more of a street fighter than a track bike. Bein a Buell however, they still out handle 99% of the actual sport bikes out there. Just don't expect to keep up with them past 2nd gear.

There's so much wildlife around here, I find myself wary of going over 70mph under most circumstances. There is literally no better bike from 0-70 than a Buell. If you want to run at "guaranteed death" speeds, then then foreign bikes may be more to your flavor.

Also, thanks. I do really like how this one looks.

I just wish it idled like my old '9.

That actually is my usual preferred speed. ;) That's why I've been shying away from getting what I actually want, which is a late 80's early 90's ZX10, 11, or 12. I've been looking at Suzuki Bandits and older GS1100E and G's, and Kawi ZRX 1100 and 1200's. The naked bikes are fast and don't have the sportbike look to them. I don't want anything smaller than a 1000cc bike, unless it's a ZX9 in the Kawi racing green colors.
What is an XB S? I've seen thunderbolts and a couple other names, no letter designations though.

Hey DMan! You have your CR truck on a dyno? Friend of mine had his on and it only put out about 400hp. He has an H&S programmer, stuff deleted and a real beefed up trans. I went for a ride last night and it seemed about as fast as mine, and his programmer gives him 1/4 mile times. It said 14.9 at 91 in the 1/4. I went online and did the 1/4 mile horsepower calculator for that speed and an 8k lb truck and it said 489hp.
What are your thoughts?

I haven't yet, but that number seems about right for mild with att. With custom stuff I made on the stock turbo I could get 14.4 at 97. Calculated that out at 477whp (7700lbs weigh in) talked to another guy that was running similar tuning (different method, same outcome) and he got the same times on his mini maxx. He swapped in an s472, and started running low 13's (his truck doesn't dyno well though and the after numbers were worse than the before. Track times indicate about 550whp) still let him beat a couple of tuned 6.4 powerstrokes. With the 480 on mine I'm thinking I'm right around that mark too

On another note I pulled my CCV cover off last night, and painted it red (turned out pretty good) and while I had that off I decided to gut the stupid CCV filter. Gutting took about 30 minutes. Prepping and painting took longer

I'm gonna need to borrow Jeff's camera to take some shots of my downstairs, it made that thumbtack look like a railroad spike.
