Used several of the airtex, the long round bodied pumps, and they seem solid. They only put out about 15 to 18 pounds of pressure but the volume of fuel is pretty good.

I had one that was a freak and thru 22lbs of pressure.

what'd we miss over here??

Yesterday at work I picked up a nailgun and it went off. I never touched the trigger or bumped the tip on anything. I thought it was weird, then I saw the 3" spiral shank nail hanging out of my leg. All expenses paid trip to the hospital! My wife works there so she was lucky enough to spend a couple hours with me.
Fyi, if when the nurse hands you a pee cup dont ask for magazines to "help you out" because both the nurse and your wife will slap you right where you got the tetanus shot and tell you thats for a different test. Wth, they just said to fill it half way, never said with what...

Jeff, don't feel bad, I would have thought the same thing. When they said 1/2 a cup I would have asked how am I supposed to stop in the middle?

DMan1198 wrote:I haven't yet, but that number seems about right for mild with att. With custom stuff I made on the stock turbo I could get 14.4 at 97. Calculated that out at 477whp (7700lbs weigh in) talked to another guy that was running similar tuning (different method, same outcome) and he got the same times on his mini maxx. He swapped in an s472, and started running low 13's (his truck doesn't dyno well though and the after numbers were worse than the before. Track times indicate about 550whp) still let him beat a couple of tuned 6.4 powerstrokes. With the 480 on mine I'm thinking I'm right around that mark too

I guessed at the 8000 lbs. He has a '10 or '11 quad cab dually with stacks, roof wind deflector, and a bunch of other crap hanging off it. Maybe it's more than 8k, IDK.

I told him he needs to run it across a scale. I should do mine too, I have no idea what either one of them weighs.

I take it all these newer trucks (3rd/4th gens) are quite tubby? I scaled The Pile at 6100lbs with me an a half tank of fuel...

The drivetrain is INCREDIBLY more robust. Let alone the frame.... all of the more creature comforts, etc...

Honestly, what year(s) besides our beloved 1st gens, is/are the best years? I know every model and drivetrain combinations has it's quirks, but general reliability wise, which have least prone to failure over the long haul?

2003 and early 2004 IMO are the best built trucks that Dodge made. They fixed all of the previous problems, yet didn't yet have the "new" problems they created in 2005.

I've been told the 2014 trucks are the bees knees.

Shoot man they are still under warranty, I just can't get past all the BS on (ANY) new car/truck/tractor, call me old fashioned, shad tree mechanic, electrically incompetent, hillbilly, whatever....I just like simplicity that works, even if the price is noisy and rough riding.

I agree.... I would LOVE a new truck (and seriously may get one strictly for the business). BUT, I drive my truck because I can depend on it... plain and simple.

Just sold the plow off of the power stroke for more then half of what I paid for it. I'm not feeling so bad about it now.

What are the 05 problems? Aren't the 04.5+ injectors more reliable?
