So jaeger went on the dyno today. Numbers were a bit low, but still managed 501/979 on a 3300us tune. It falls off hard by 3600 though. Also it could only hold 19-20ksi rail pressure while I was commanding 25-26k (it holds fine on a 2800us tune though)

Leave it to you guys to find the smut lining in the gray cloud. Just so you know, I found out why the truck didn't have any ass, the swivel elbow I had in the outlet of the valet solenoid blew apart, so no boosted fuel. In screwing around with this and trying to put in a straight fitting because that's all I had, the banjo bolt for the AFC head went flying and enter the realm of invisibility. I looked for the SOB for an hour and 20 minutes and then my friend looked for 20 more. It wasn't in the driveway or on the frame anyplace, and I swear I heard it hit the ground. I ran a magnet over the driveway twice and it never showed. I didn't tap the AFC head bigger because I don't have another fitting to put in it. I'm still torn between beating it with a BFH or going to get a few new fittings.

Jon, that's a professional wiring job there. For a house.

Pete I had one blow apart on me when I went and picked up my bed. I bought a few of them. They have a beefier one I'll try next time if it happens.

The one I had in there was one I kept when I was replacing them in a paper mill. It had a lot of time on it when I got it, that's why we were replacing them. That's the 2nd one to fail on me, both in the AFC plumbing.

I've lost two on the pump top side of the AFC myself.

I worked out there for a night, got to run the rotary rail car unloader. Very impressive. It has a fully automated positioning system, so after the first four cars are manually spotted, this machine will move 60 cars one at a time...no locomotives needed. It takes 2 minutes start to finish for the positioning and unloading of each car, the unloading part takes about twenty seconds. 100,000 plus lbs of coal getting tipped out of a rail car in just a few seconds is freakin awesome! I didn't get to play with the D10's or the D11 on the coal pile, but it was still neat out there none the less.

Cool pics and you are right about the dumpers being a sight to see. It's also amazing how much money it costs to run those big dozers, remember talking with one of the mechanics and I think he said they burned around 1500 liters a day and they were constantly in the shop getting filters changed.

On second thought I think my truck made the most hp on the 3200us tune rather than the 3300us tune.

I was talking to a pilot that flies us into our fly in jobs who was running an a star chopper. He said the thing burns a barrel of a1 jet fuel in an hour, and a barrel if the stuff costs between $300 a $400

I'm not buying that core support unless the $$ goes towards some hairspray for your intake boots, Zach. :P

Took the RC around the block in 2wd tonight, she's running good. 8)

It's not starting with the key or charging(or have power brakes), but it sure does drive nice. Got a want ad out on CompD right now for a booster, the rest is on me.

Pete don't hit your truck, my old boss was working on a restored 67 vette 427/435hp, trying to find a problem with the head light buckets, I walked out of the shop and heard a pop, I went back in to see the handle of a ball peen hammer sticking up out of the top of the front fender... that one cost him a bit.

I believe you are correct! Put a different style on until we can get weld on hubs installed this winter. Have a serious oil leak from the head gasket so I get to pull the head and change that in the next three days. Hope to have it back together by Thursday for the pull.

After talking to someone with some more experience I could've made better numbers by running in 5th or 6th, and loading the engine a lot more. Next time it hits the dyno I want to have something more in the way of the cp3, and an s475

I'll put hairspray on it if it makes you feel better. It's got two rings welded on and two clamps on it now. Hoping that holds. Gotta order the new head gasket this am.
