Welp, now I know why people hate selling things so much on Craigslist. I listed my 300D for $1000 and within 20 minutes I had 6 people call or text me. A couple days later and only one guy is interested but he said he could only do $500. Fine, I just want the damn thing gone. So, we agree to meet at my brother' shop today at noon, I get there at 1130 and an hour goes by... I call him and he says he needs me to meet him at a gas station to follow me back. I asked if he had a truck and trailer because he couldn't drive the Mercedes home and he said no. Then he hangs up and about 10 minutes later texts me and says he can't make it out anymore...

So, I took some more pictures, listed it on Craigslist again (for $850) and now I have a guy who is supposedly interested. He is trying to work out towing arrangements. We'll see how this works out.

I'll follow dad's lead. He got 270k out of his original injectors and still has the original HPOP.

I went to get plates today and I saw 2 nice 1st gens. One pristine blue and gray D250 and one red 4x4 flat bed. Both intercooled.

The tractor motor on my Case 530 blew up last night. Looks like one of the connecting rods let go - blew a 3" hole through the side of the block. Anybody have a running 530 ck engine sitting around?

So, before I drive to wherever Yukon Gear is and burn their building down, does anyone have some good info about the interchangeability of carriers?

I've read a million times that any 4:10 and down carrier can be swapped into a 3.07 housing, so knowing this I ordered a Detroit locker after looking up a SRW, 3.07 D70 BOM and giving it to them.

They sent me a 4.56 and up Detroit and swear it's what I need. There's a .200" difference in in ring gear mounting surface that I've measured so far, in the wrong direction, but they aren't interested in even listening to me until I try to install the thing.

Literally, everything I've read, including the damn Spicer part numbers, say that the 4:10 down carriers interchange. Do they know something I don't? I'm not interested in wastin an entire day, which is what it will take me, installing this thing and buying new bearings just to prove what I already (think I) know. :?

4:10 and down carriers interchange. I have a L/S carrier out of a 95 model 70 in the rear of my truck. It needed rebuilt when I got it. So it got new 35 spline side gears during the rebuild to fit my axles.

Thats kinda tempting. The tractor was burning a fair bit of oil and I already had half a notion to swap a diesel into it.

I think they're in the Yukon, hence the name, Yukon Gear? ;)

Sorry man, I couldn't resist. I hope you get it figured out.

Isn't going to be any figuring this out, Pete, I think my next step is calling their tech support directly. I've been going through our local driveline guy. Super nice cat, and he's busted his ass to make me happy with all his other work, but this is out of both of our hands.

I refuse to install that thing without some sort if guarantee that if it isn't right I'm not out a dime. This will be my first real diff install, and though I have the tools I'm still going to take forever freaking out and making sure it's perfect. I don't want to do that sthi twice.

And bring on the whAt? Yukon, the RC is ready for a road trip. I just got the power door locks working. 8)

First vehicle I've ever owned with functional power locks.

FWIW just buy two grease seals and pull the hubs. Easiest way to do them, just not the cheapest. All thou at the price of skin and pinches,it may work out :)
