Happy bday Ellis.

Just pulled the data logger. 69.28 psi and 1652 degrees at the cylinder. 850 psi of water injection pressure. With the leaking head gasket the motor got to 248 degrees after the run when it pushed the water out. I think if I could have stayed straight it would have been a hell of a pass. Might be starting to guald the differential which caused the sudden left turn in addition to the brakes. Might see this weekend at the next pull.

The 3:07's use the 5/8's offset from what I have heard. But they use the 4:10 down carrier to get the spacing needed for the large pinion. Here is a pic of a 3:07 pinion beside a dead 3:54 pinion.

Hea Ike here is a pic of that bent 70 I replaced a long time ago. Look at both axle tubes to the level.

Those don't fit 1st gens. Our entire steering setup is different. You may want to look at the bracket holding the steering box though as they're notorious for cracking. Also check everything else on the front end for wear

Anyone know the width difference between a 3/4 2nd gen axle and a 1 ton dual rear 1stgen axle?

I know the 2ndgen D70's axle shafts are 2" longer than a comparable 1stgen D70, thanks about it.

Then the housings are probably 4" longer then?
I'm only interested in knowing this because I may just break down and dual the dodge, including the Dually rotors/hubs for the front.
Actually a measurement from someone's dually axle will suffice,as I can measure one of the two second gen trucks axle I have. :)
