That was my bitch about the ride back! I had to cancel the cruise a lot because of other idiots that wouldn't move or slowed down in front of me. I figured my MPG would be whupped because the truck goes WFO when I hit resume. Still got 19 on the way back.
I like driving 1st thing in the morning, not many people out and I like watching the sun come up as I cruise on down the road. 8)

Late evening to early morning drives I love. Not a whole lot of people or cops. I did a stretch of interstate in my 01 BBC Suburban. 15 miles of pure bliss with no cops, hitting the 110mph speed limiter, hearing all 496 cu inches come out through 2 2.5" glass packs. Surprisingly quiet.

Driving at night is alright, but farming at night is a blast assuming I'm not beat tired. Light up the night in the tractor!

I loved farming at night. I liked to watch the sun set in the tractor then turning all the lights on lol..Even if it was in a John Deere.

:?: I drive wfo every time I take off now a days... I notice with a lowly ve that it doesn't really make that big of a difference. Still is fun though. Ducati got to hear my incredibly slow, blowing half the compression past the rings, ve hit like 4 grand though...............on stock valve springs.

On a side note.... I have learned that a 6.7 can run on virtually ANY turbo on the planet. Because it is the first Cummins that can run unloaded with a turbo delete. 1400 rpm, in 6th, with zero psi... up a hill.... not a problem. :!: Holy frick. That makes for an easy rig to beef up.

I do love to drive. And no I'm not on my way home yet. I'm in Corvallis visiting a friend for a few days.

Eric thanks again for the hospitality, and showing off the rc, and cr. your son is a pretty cool little fellow. I'll be sure to post up pictures when I get those traction bars on.

On another note when I got near the Idaho/Montana border when the speed limit drops to 55 I couldn't keep egts in check at all in 6th at about 1600rpm. I only let it go to 1200 before dropping to 5th where it promptly dropped to sub 1100. If I hold 1900rpm in 6th she'll stay at 1100*. I suspect a small part of my issue is a dirty air filter

So the race has been run.

I am no longer a 1st gen owner. I traded it off on a Chevy that's worth more and should sell quicker. It is a sad day. If there are any members near Mattoon, Illinois, keep an eye out for it.
