Doctor bills suck balls.....have spent at least 5500 this year insurance/employer has payed 4 which is awesome but with everything else 1500 is a chunk of change i could really use right now...

Healthcare......what's not to love.

You should try having a type 1 diabetic wife and pay outright for a your insurance. I pay more a month for insurance than I do for my house note.

Lies all lies. All that schit did was make my insurance go up as I only had major medical. When that crap came into the effect it doubled my premium because of the amendments to the plan required by the lie.....I mean law.

Yup 100% crap. "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan." etc. I still am clinging to the hope it'll get repealed.

I wasn't sayin what you have isn't bad now.....I was just sayin it could be worse. I'm no cup half full person,but when it comes to dealing with doctors/insurance/anything medical it could always be worse.

Here's another one for you. Before i received my hard knocks learned lesson,my wife was pregnant with my daughter,my first child. My wife,being diabetic,was considered a high risk pregnancy. That meant that every 2 weeks she was at the diabetic/obgyn. After everything was said and done,the total tally on that kid was a wopping 12k. That literally wipped any savings I had at the time. The second kid cost me much less because I pretty much told them to go get stump broke when they wanted to see here every other week. Just that alone saved me about 4gs.

It's a racket,your never charged what it's actual cost to treat you. It cost you what it take takes to treat 3 more plus you.

Ellis I know how fast the pregnancy/kid bills rack up. My daughter was 2.5 months early. The last bill I got for that was $97,000. I got lucky and insurance paid almost all of it. I still paid a large chunk of cash though. NICU stay racks up really fast.

The last 24 hours have poured.

Yesterday was a follow up to a ER visit I had 2 weeks ago. Enlarged Prostate, hernia, and they found a heart arythmia. So they drew some blood and scheduled me a stress test for next Friday. They called me today to tell me my blood work shows elevated markers for thyroid problems. They're doing more tests later this month. They gave my an anti inflammatory med to bring my Prostate down in size. If that doesn't work, more tests.

Today on my way home, 10 miles from work and home, going up a hill, the turbo started spooling. Then came an unmistakable sound. The sound of my 54mm compressor wheel becoming a 50mm wheel. Lost the turbo today.

Andy that figure in I posted IS what I paid. Not including what I paid for insurance premium. All medical bills suck,I'd hate to have payed what my mom and dad payed for his two heart caths w/stints,one open heart,and cancer treatments over 2 1/2 years. I know that wasn't cheap.
