This minute, today, or for the whole week? I bet you can't go the rest of the week without complaining about it again.
You need to just sell that POS and get back into a real truck. :P

Or nah. I miss the simplicity, fuel economy, and torque of the 12v on a daily basis. The rest of it, well...

Only thing that truck won't do that your dodge would do is leave with a load. After that there's nothing a comparable dodge can do better......oh and mileage
And actually....once you can read out the data that the computer sees,on your own scanner the simplicity thing will slowly come back. That's the last ford made before becoming a complete cluster wHat? !

I'd like to see Ford bump the displacement of the 6.7 up to 7.3L for old times sake and push 500 horse and 1000 pounds of torque stock. Let's keep all of the big three on their toes and see how stout these things can be. Competition is a good thing.

That's true. While at first using the tuning software for jaeger was confusing, but now that I understand it it's really quite simple, and I can get what I want most of the time. Though that's with a cummins. That new for sthi is freaking ridiculously stupid. The 6.4's timing is actually measured in the ecm as atdc

Bought a pair of Cooper A/TW 285/75/16 for the rear of the 96 today. They are a winter tire that is rated for 4 seasons usage. Very impressed so far, smooth quiet ride, definitely smoother than the 245/16 Goodyear dura tracks that I had on it. Can idle the rear end in 2nd over a speed bump without everything in the back getting airborne. Drives through 8-10 inches of snow no problem now, where it would have just spun out before. The best part is I gained about 5-6 mph, which means I can now drive my happy speed of 70 mph and stay just below the 2k rpm cummins drone. Got lots of travelling coming up, so that will be nice. The 245's on the front really look like cookie cutters now though, going to switch the front to 265's eventually. I also plan on switching my spare from a 245 to a 235/85, or a 265/75 so it is a little closer in height.

I missed this before. If I ever win the lottery, I'd either have a twin turbo mechanical 6.7 Cummins built or have 4 valve heads for common rail injectors made for the 7.3.

Theres no replacement for displacement 8)

Mechanical has a lot of advantages, don't get me wrong on that.... But the cp3 system blows it out of the water when it is working right.

Now don't anyone for one second think that I'm turning my back on mechanical. I'm truly a mechanical guy, that's why I built the RC.

Caleb, you'd be money a head with the Cummins. I'm a Mopar guy for sure, but I can see the good in the other brands as well. I'm just about to the point of just wanting something with a warranty anymore, but the old wallet says no. If I ever do get something new, I'll at least test drive a Duramax and a Powerstroke. But if Dodge(Ram I guess  ) still has a straight 6 Cummins and a manual trans when that day comes I doubt the others can change my mind.

About the only advantage common rails have is in the tuning/adjustability. They certainly can't fuel like a P7100. You know what the three six second diesels in the U.S. (maybe the world) have in common? That's right, an inline mechanical injection pump.

I think it's tough to say a common rail system is a disadvantage though. Common rails are competitive in pro street and 3.0". Five years ago, that was far from the case.

I'll definitely own another mechanical diesel before another electronic one
