Ordered chrome centers so chrome nuts it is. No Jon, haven't had a chance. I threw one on last nite to check clearance and measure for center cap length, and to check the length of the studs. They are good, so that's 1 less thing I have to do. Going to try to get some cleaner/ polish this weekend. And maybe one of those power ball polish thingers.

I got one of those mothers powercones recently for my wheels, and it works pretty decent.

On another note I went to a dyno day today, which was fun. One truck did 1449 then spit one of its turbine wheels out the exhaust, and one of the dpc2016 trucks was sitting around. Then on my way home I decided to see what kind of speed I could hit with jaeger (The Roo Hunter is still in pieces) and I got to a whopping 220km/h (136.7mph) dictated by gps before having to slow down for a camper. This truck is very stable at that speed too, which is nice.

They hit 1400 at wot from 0-120mph, then backed off to 1100 with the speedo just pegged, and pedalling up to that max was just over 1200.

DM, I got the Mothers Powerball, it's about 2.5-3 inches in diameter and a jar of polish. I'm going to pop the tires off and then pressure wash them, then polish and swap my tires over. I think. Subject to when I feel like it and have time, barring any future screw ups like told below.

I got my bike all back together today, was picking up tools and what I thought was a socket turned out to be a damping cone from inside the fork. It's the 1st thing to go back in, if you remember to do it. :( I was more than a little mad, especially as it wasn't the 1st fork I assembled, but the 2nd.

I'm going to have to pick up a thing of metal polish one of these days, and do the same with my wheels. I picked up mothers chrome polish a while back, and it's just too mild to get these aluminum wheels to a nice finish, and I might finish up with it after.

I cleaned up my roll bar recently with my powercone, and Chrome polish. It reduced the little rust marks pretty quick. Also my hood is shaping up not too bad. I didn't do much on it this weekend, but I've just been wet sanding with 600grit to get the rust converter marks to disappear. Once that's all cleaned up I'll hit it with filler primer, smooth with 800-1000 grit, and then paint it. Something I'm wondering is should I smooth the paint with 1-2000 grit, then clear? And if I use a gloss clear does that make the flat paint into a gloss?

Don't mess around with the parts store polish stuff, get a gallon of muriatic acid and pour some on the wheels and let them sit a few minutes. Rinse off with water and dry them out. Get some polish rouge bars and some wheels and attachments to go on a angle grinder and you'll polish them to a mirror.

Ike, those are my rims! Mine are better than the 1st pic, but not as nice as the 2nd. I hope to get working on them later this week. How did you clean up the bolts?

The buffing wheel I used for the rest took the rust right off the bolt heads. I wanted to remove them so it would make polishing easier, but after snapping off the first one I tried, I said F-it.

What up gentlemen ? I weathered the storm just fine.

Anyone need junk hauled from central IN to western IA/eastern NE? Work is sending me to Ames, IA first week of July. I think I'll visit some friends in NE since I'm out that way.

Good. I'm working for a seed company doing contract production, meaning we don't have our own brand and grow other people's product.

The meetings are Monday the 8th through Thursday the 11th, so I'd guess Ill be leaving Saturday morning (6th), spending Sunday in the Omaha area, and heading back home on Friday (12th). Probably be rolling across 80.
