This is the only part I question, if you're talking about the PS pressure hoses I used 2ndgen pieces on mine and they worked fine. :?

Maybe this is without the metal tubing?

The guy wanted dang near brand new prices, so I passed. I think we could have struck a deal if he'd had the power steering pump assembly for it, but it left with the engine. It's not like I was going to put it on today with 8 inches of snow on the ground.

The metal tubing is way longer than 4", he may be talking about the brake lines themselves. The 2ndgen setup sticks out from the dash farther, so the brake lines would have to go forward with it and they're bolted to the frame with a bracket.

I T'd my returns, still using the 1stgen pump. I used a 1/2" T jammed into 3/8" tubing though. I doubt it's related to the T, but when I jab the brake pedal my wheel twitches to the left. It's not noticeable when you're moving, just when you're sitting still and resting your hand on it.

Levi, that's from low pressure. Not low enough to keep it from working proper, low enough to rob from the sector. If you've a factory PS pump you can remove the spool valve out of the back and look at the adjustment bolt on the end of that valve. In factory form there should be shims in between the bolt and spool valve body, the cardone remans I've fooled with have been loctited. You can find a thinner shim or remove it totally( use loctite) and give it half a turn down. DO NOT bottom it,you will blow the back of the pump out if you do (I have done it),it'll happen if you bottom out the steering.
That will get rid of the slight turn of the wheel at low rpm/idle

So I was scanning through some classified and I see where people are asking about factory tachs.....and every time I see something about them I get sick to my stomach... I bought one for 10 bucks and got in a bind while in college or just out of college (can't remember) and sold it for 350. I wish like hell I would of kept it..... :puker:

No... probably would of been easier than cranking on it for a half hour though.

Just ether it, mang. Seriously, IMO you literally can't hurt anything wafting some fumes through the filter, and it will start. Not to mention you can yank that little wire by the battery and ether it while your turning it over. It doesn't get any easier.

Also, Ellis, you're being dangerously helpful lately. Better make some gay jokes about Hineman to even it out.

So I guess I'm taking my 4th gen into the dealer to get checked out for a tie rod recall. If it needs it it won't get it though as the part from the dealer is massively back ordered. Oh well I'll just hope sheer horsepower will save me (I don't know how it'll help, but I know I'll feel better having it) (anyone want to trade an he351ve and bit of work for a 3000 dollar turbo swap?)

I get tired of icing the carb, but my gas tractor just runs so well and starts in any weather. Can't hardly complain.

Going S400- based? I hear the 6.7s like the 467s at a mostly stock level.

Yeah an s467 is the plan. The 6.7 can do up to a 475 on stock fuel. 550whp is about how much max effort tuning will net on the stock pump and sticks
