Andy, I'm trying to load up the diagrams you asked for on photobucket right now.

I'll have to pm them to you because I forgot to black out a trademark  don't want anybody getting upset over it.
I'll include the power and ground distribution, the gauge cluster and computer wiring.

I did some looking on the diagrams and seen that you'll need the computer to make the speedo work. Looked into it a little farther and found out why. The signal from the sensor is analog and the computer converts it to digital then drives the speedo motor.
If you don't want to deal with the computer then I have an idea that may work. If you want to hear it I'll go thru it ;)

The tach will work without the computer, that I've done before. Should be a solid white wire out of the bulk head connector on the driver side that'll be used.

Okay so i got pissed and pulled the wiring harness out of this thing tonight and opened it up. The VSS wires are intack all then way to the computer. They go into a black sheeting about a foot from the VSS and it has a little wire coming out that appears to be a ground. This black wire goes up to a group of black wires with one cut off. At the other end of the VSS wires that meet the computer that little ground looking wire is not hooked to anything. So i was wondering if you could help me with some pin id's on the computer Mr. Ellis? Which white wire coming out of the bulkhead plug is the tach?

Blue plug pins
28,8,3

Red plug pins
21,10,12,15,28,29,31

Black plug pins
18

White plug pins
19,27,30

If you'd put a Cummins in that POS all you would need is 1 switch and a pushbutton. Flip the toggle and push the button, and it's running. ;)

Man that really sucks cause I did send it all to you.

The wire for the tach doesn't go to the computer, its in the bulkhead connector on the drivers side of the firewall. You just need to put it on the negative side of the coil and your done

For the speedo to work, the computer's gonna have to come on.
Comp Grounds are in connector 3 (color idk) pins 17 18 19. Two black/white stripe one solid black

Comp ignition on power is in connector 4. Pink wire pin 18

If all that's square it should work,if not then I know of another way that will.

That loose wire you spoke off is nothing but an isolater. Keeps the ac signal from affecting other things.

Yeah there are 4 streets close to me with same number address just different street name that i have gotten mail for. Do you know which white wire is the tach because there are a few in that bulkhead connector.

Should be pin6 in that connector.

Edit
Wrong connector, that's for the cluster plug :grrr:
Lookin on the diagram I see two solid white wires. One is for the tach the other is for the auto trans range switch, you don't have that.

It'll take five min to snatch out the cluster so you can ohm it out to find it.
