I do love me some big cubes. I don't know if I could tolerate that much electricity and a FRT though.

Yeah some of this electronic stuff is just plain ridiculous. The fact that I can add enough timing and fuel with a laptop to show you the insides scares me a touch. The kind of funny thing is there's quite a few people who buy tunes that sound like a 12 valve. I even made one that's a true single event tune. Made me feel super manly and a bit like punching a puppy if anyone called me on it

You have the capability of tuning a single injection event into it?

Pretty much. There's still a few maps that we can't see in mcc, but I zeroed out all 7 pilot and post injection maps, zeroed out the parts if the duration maps that affect pilot. Then took all 7 main injection timing maps, and put 12 degrees of advance in the first column, and 1 additional degree in every column to the right until I got to 25 degrees, then the rest of the columns are 25 degrees after that. So far as soon as it fires it rattles like there's no pilot. Another guy didn't do his timing as high as I did at idle, and when he started it cold it would have pilot

Damn it......I'm gonna need one of those fancy new trucks, LOL. That sounds more fun than any of this old school stuff. Sounds like a potential nightmare when something goes wrong, but fun until it does.

Also, Ellis, you're being dangerously helpful lately. Better make some gay jokes about Hineman to even it out.

If you do I know a thing or 2 about tuning it. Just recently h&s released stuff that let us tune for extra rpm. It's proven that we can get full fuel to 3750rpm and it'll fuel to 4200, but will usually throw an injector code, or 5 after that.

According to experts it's easier to fuel a 4th gen really hard than it is to fuel a 3rd gen 6.7, and that's easier to fuel hard than a 06-07 5.9

I can ease into it on my hotter tunes and it'll hit a point where it starts smoking and doesn't stop. Pretty much I've got the fuel for 550hp and a turbo that can just barely make 500. With the max effort tune I've got I should be right at that mark too. If I run a tune set up for pilot then kill 50% of the pilot the truck idles like garbage when it's cold. Way worse than a ve at that temperature. I'm going to load up a no pilot tune and see how that runs at this -20c we've got right now. If I'm right it should idle much better due to the fuel charge coming in so early (12-14 degrees without pilot versus 2.25-4 degrees with pilot) but I'll try tweaking rail pressure a bit while I'm at it (even though when it's cold rail pressure adjustments don't seem to do anything)

every morning, I am sick of this cold and ice crap, my dang bills are sky high and on the odd day I will forget to turn off
the water to the stock tank and it will run for 4-5 hours..

I long for the spring and summer.
