Oh, and do you have the 1/4" spacer ?

It's the original cummins lift pump off my 98. I'm going to make the spacer....got to looking at it and it's missing the plunger :bh: and I don't think I have the right fuel line either :(

I didn't say they weren't good transmissions.....now. I'm just saying they are embellishing on the facts about the trans :) It's not beginner friendly.

Yep ford has it in all the right places except......the engine

Ah it's always fun when you can get the tires to spin without being able to get your foot to the floor. Also getting more rail pressure seems to make to truck more responsive. For some reason it fell on its face for a few seconds and I'm not sure why (could be something with the tune, not sure) got the trans up to 125 degrees and the engine to operating temp (which seems to be quicker on this tune) then did the aforementioned spinning of the tires

Don't mind Ellis. He's still in the closet.

You can't force him out either. He has to find his own way out.

I'm still not impressed with the Power stroke or the E4OD.

Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you a first gen and that better make you happy because it'll suck up all your money.

Ike, I to have threatened to set fire to my truck. It straightened right up afterwards ;)

I can't say I've plowed with either, but you'd just tear up more stuff with a Cummins. Ford and GM plow trucks out number Dodges 5 to 1 around here. Can't say I have a valid opinion though. I plow with a tractor, not a truck.

I'm pretty sure GM and Ford out number Dodge 5:1 with out plows also. so.... it stands to reason they would out number them with plows.

Well....who are you now....Dr Phil? What credentials do you have, schooling orvfirst hand experience?
Na....seriously ford has some good stuff, diesel stuff just ain't their strong point. They've over engineered and over complicated just about every aspect of the diesel engine for their truck starting from the 6.0. It borders on insanity the lengths they've gone just to have a diesel and all the while shoving a huge time bomb bill on tbe public. Not the first person that bought the newer trucks as they came out knew about having to totally dismember the truck to do any major job to it

Reading about DMan's 4th gen got me looking at some 2010 and newer trucks....pretty nice. I seen several that I really like, crew cab long bed SRW manual transmission...all the basic stuff and no frills...and they still ask $30k for them. I seen an auto for $26k...still a lot of money...then again, I put a good $8k+ into it my pile this last 14 months....but I don't have any payments and higher insurance either.

Hmmm :?
