When I leave work, it normally takes just 40 minutes to get home.

So, it started snowing at work right at 1:00p this afternoon. We closed shop and headed home at 1:30p.

I just phacking got home at 7:00p.

Good Lord Almighty! Glad you made it home, how much snow and ice did you guys get down that way? I seen the weather shortly before I had to go to town, looked like GA was gonna get pounded.

Jeff, if it's a straight cut, use a utility knife, and cut with the back edge of the blade to score it 3-4 times. Then snap it over the edge of a table or something. Like was said, rough cut curves, then finish with a grinder, a fine wheel works better than a coarse one.

BC, glad you made it with sheet metal intact. We're only getting 3-6 inches from this storm.

So I'm trying to replace wires to resolve a charging issue on my 91.5. Which wire on the alternator goes to voltage regulator? I've got a small blue one and a small green one, the big one to the battery and the ground.

And that goes to the green on the VR? The one that says R3/18DG on the diagram?

For what we typically get, we get hammered perhaps every 5 ~ 10 years.

In this case, the snow/sleet/freezing rain came from the southeast. Any other day, it comes from the northwest. Myself and most of our staff live southeast of work. ~ By the time it "Got bad" closer to work, it was real bad closer to home.

The vast majority of the drivers are well able to drive home in the mess. But there's those few "Special" folks who just can't help but ride the brakes, give it throttle, just to slide sideways at a neck-breaking .75 MPH. Block the entire south bound side of a 4-lane highway with a five foot car.

While sitting in one 1/2 mile stretch, I bet I saw eight cars drive up the wrong side of the highway. I guess they must be somebody.

That's when Karma showed up.

I swear to God, some lady, in a four-door sedan was hauling hiney in the oncoming two lanes . . . . . Backward. Behind her , perhaps 10 or 15 cars. She was actually doing pretty good. All those sitting around me were laughing at this dumbass.

Yea.... things get interesting when the weather/roads change. I couldn't imagine in a place where some folks have NO idea how to drive or what to expect.

I went fishing today.... it was a bust. Turns out my front driveline can't handle 5mph in 2 feet of wet slushy snow.

About 4 miles from a paved road.... we hear this awful clunk and we go "what was that"... well everything seemed normal, about a hundred yards later front driveshaft falls out of the front axle yoke  Spit both caps out. WTF

SOMEHOW and I do mean somehow I put it back in and kept the proper pressure and limped it out of the mess. Then on the way home my rear driveline started to throw in the towel. I'm officially done with ABSOLUTE GARBAGE CHINESE POS BULL CRAP PARTS.

I replaced those damn u joints 2 months ago. I'm (tomorrow) re building both shafts, replacing all yokes, dropping the t-case/trans mounts down to help with angle and putting ALL spicer joints in.

Correct. I pulled that one out of the 91.5 supplement schematics.

What brand of driveline parts do you usually run?

Spicer...... last year I was in a pinch and bought the "o'reilly high end ones". Since then I think I've replaced my rear joints, oh.......5 times probably (I don't remember exactly). That driveline and yokes are factory and in excellent shape. But, there comes a point where you just start over.

I've got a 2nd gen front shaft that will be going in.

Uh-oh.... Another project. Looking like fun though.

So, I found today.... I had snapped off one of my transmission mount bolts (the bolt that goes through the rubber mount doo hicky), and twisted the splines on the rear driveline, Torque will catch up to you I guess.
