YES!

Philip: Yes, SDDs are the shizzle. I don't know that I'll ever go back.

All may not be completely lost though, I got to screwing around with TestDisc (open source file recovery software) and have thus far found my mess is still there. It was late, screw it. I'll mess with it tomorrow.

I have a junk laptop Philip that you can have. Lasted 1 year before the SSD took a chit.

David, find a competent computer repairman. Likely the motherboard inside the drive went. A competent guy can take the disks out and read them on to another drive.

I'll take it. You want to ship it.

Thanks for the suggestions folks. At this point, I've been successful in recovering all that data on the one remaining damaged partition. [testdisc 6.14 win. (Free/Open Source) A powerful DOS based window (No GUI) running in the Windows OS (WIN7 in my case) environment].

Just gotta be more regular in backing-up my mess. It had been a month or so.

Fixing to go to the coast again Friday. Sure hope the truck doesn't . . .. . . .. . get poor fuel mileage.

As long as you don't have too many horsepower inspired shenanigans you should be fine

So I guess it's college basketball tournament time. I am nothing short of stoked. My excitement cannot be construed through a keyboard.

My boss showed me a video of a cops dash cam and out of no where a truck goes flying in between the squad car and the car stopped. I guess the truck was slowing down for the police and a semi slammed into him. its on yahoo I think...I'll see if I can find the link.
