FAIR OAKS, Ind. — Police say a Michigan man on a hunting trip to northwestern Indiana died after he was hit by a pickup truck driven by a fellow hunter.
The Newton County Sheriff's Department says 42-year-old Jonathan Link of Conklin, Mich., was hunting on private property in a rural area about 30 miles south of Gary when he was struck Sunday morning.
The department say the other hunter drove Link a couple miles to a convenience store at Interstate 65 and Indiana 14, where police were called. Link died after he arrived at Jasper County Hospital in Rensselaer.
Police said the circumstances remained under investigation
