AC temperature probe

Postby Diesel » Wed Jun 29, 2011 11:19 am

Does anyone know whether pushing the AC temperature probe (located in the low pressure line) would allow me to get colder air out of the vents or not? I don't think my evaporator or any components are close enough to "freezing" so I want to get it closer to that point without obviously allowing anything to freeze up.

I thought you pulled it out about 1/2"

I think pulling it out would raise temperatures in the evaporator core and thus the cabin. I am not exactly sure how it gets its reading though so I could be wrong.
