Anyone else make a kelderman like system for the shackles?

Does any other company make a Kelderman like system that hangs the leaf shackle by an airbag?

If there is, I haven't seen it.

There are used ones out there from time to time. I just put one on a while back. Love it! :D

Looks like you have the single bag not the shackle dual bags? The single bag is just a massive center bag to hold more weight, right? I am looking for the cushy ride 2 bags

Yes, it is a single bag, but the dual setup should carry more weight.

Rides awesome with just the single. Night and day difference. Want to add it too my '99 dually as well. :) Wished I'd put it on the '97.

My understanding of them going to a dual setup, was to allow the use of the tire carrier under the rear, or to leave room to add a 2nd fuel tank.

Not quite. The single bag will hold more weight and help ride if you remove a leaf. The dual bag just hangs the shackles from airbags. The purpose is to rely on the airbags until you load it up enough to need the spring rate from the leafs. You gain zero load capacity but gain mucho ride quality.

The single bag also replaces the rear spring mounts. The frame mounts ahead of the axle, not behind it like the new er 2 bagger does.

Never said it would add load capacity, per se. Only meant that the 2 bagger should handle more weight than the single before squatting down to touch the stop, and letting the springs take over completely.

No need to remove a spring to improve ride with the single bag setup. Night and day difference as it is.

Thats interesting. Good to know. I don't think I want to fabricate the Kelderman because I'd feel like I am reinventing the wheel. Could anyone explain what that bar that goes from one side to the other side does?

That one bag could pick up the entire truck's weight twice over. I bet the springs would break off before the bag got maxed out.

So 1 bag looks like it will also isolate the springs from the chassis with the bag? Does installation require any permanent changes to the frame?

I have been trying to get my hands on a single bag kelderman but not much luck. I have been left with custom soft springs from alcan and air bags for load capacity as an option.

The lower frame of the Kelderman replaces the rear spring mount, and the spring shackle is attached to the Kelderman framework. The front end of the spring is still attached at its original point on the factory mount.

Aside from removing the spare tire carrier under the bed, rear spring mounts and drilling one hole in the frame, no modifications were needed on my truck.

Depends on how much air you put in it. It takes about 20-25psi to carry the rear of the truck empty.

The Kelderman isn't meant to replace the springs, or add any extra load capacity, so I'd limit the amount of air to the bag. Put 2500 pounds on the stock suspension, and it rides pretty good.
