run 'em bare, i like that look myself and if ya hit some trails or play in the bush, you dont have to worry bout loosing anything off the rim but the rear dog dish cap does make a good parts bin when in the bush

It depends on the truck. Yours, for instance, I would keep them on. I am running the stock steelies too, but mine have been painted black, to match the rest of the blacked out theme on my truck...so it looks ok. I am running 285/75R16 Dick Cepeck FCII's, they rub a bit on the Pittman arm, but every truck I have ever had has had the largest tires I could fit on, so it doesn't bother me.

Iv been thinking about getting some rims off a 06 dodge diesel and was planning to put on 265/75/R17 tires? Would i have any problems with clearance? The thing im mostly worried about is will they drop my mileage much?

i dont see why it would affect mileage . the stock size 235/85/16 measure out 31.7x9.25
the 265/70/17 measure 31.6x10.4 .
I have ran from the stock 235's to 255/85/16 and now 315/70/17 never noticed the milage change until the 315's( dropped it a little) but my last tank avergaged out to 18.7 and I don't exactly baby my truck

my speedometer is 3mph too fast so im trying to find a tire for a 17inch rim that will have a slightly bigger diameter than stock 16 inch rim so i can even up my speedometer.

The tires that marked the most accurate on mine was the 255/85/16. I think they make a255/80/17.
I just put a set of 265/70/17 that I got for free and my speedo marks too fast with these.
