I've repaired this same thing with stainless filler rod/ tig welder. The brackets are cast steel, not cast iron, so repair is very simple.
91 d350 1/2" supply lines, 2nd gen lift pump, regulator, 366, screwed, homebrewed afc pin, linkage mods, ported head, ported ex manifold, 351ve electrically controlled, 3" boost tubes, 2nd gen I/C, 4" ex, goerand

Yup, cast steel is easy. I have used stick, and mig with that.

wow, cast steel does make it easier thats a big developement....my right side is doing it now, guess ill get the mig out, seems like that bracket is gona take up alot of heat though

Glad this thread came back up, saved me from looking for it. I did brakes on the wifes car and the outer pad has worn a deep hole in the bracket. Now I know what to weld it with. 8)

all im woried about is that the bracket is going to suck all the heat out of the weld
