On the road again!

Postby Remps » Fri Mar 18, 2011 9:53 pm

Finally got the 93's front end back together today. Moog 5716S springs, 4 balljoints, monroe magnum shocks, steering link, and a wheel alignment. Now the front end is actually sitting a little higher than the back end, and the 245 75's on the front look ridiculous compared to the 235 85's I got on the back. I had ordered poly bushings and bilstein shocks, but after waiting for over 3 months for the parts I cancelled the order. Oh well, next year. But it easily drives over speed bumps at 10 mph that would have the 90 smashing the non existent bumpstops off at half that speed. 8)

It's always nice getting a project like that done where you can notice a difference. You're gonna be out burning through the curves now, just remember although it feels like it handles like a Porsche it's not haha

An update on these springs: If you are replacing your 2wd front springs and want a factory-like ride, do not buy the 5716's. Unless you want to feel every single bump..I'm still happy with them, and the truck handles the big bumps nicely, instead of wallowing around. The 90 feels like a cadillac in comparison tho. With 245/75 on the front I'm at 34-1/2" to the outer wheelwell, 34" on the rear sitting on 235/85's. So when I put 235/85 on the front it will probably be another inch higher on the front..Has anyone ever used coil over shocks on the back of there truck? Did it lift the back end a little?

I used some of those coil over shocks on an old turd Ford I had. It lifted the rear a little over an inch. You could also try out some air shocks I suppose.
