Gravity Feed Tank

Postby collegekid » Sun Jul 31, 2011 3:58 pm

Im fixing to have a gravity feed fuel tank built for my truck, I know that I need to have a nipple at the top for my vent tube, and I will have one for my bypass return from my regulator, my question is, do I need a thrid one for the stock fuel return, or will it be fine leaving it plugged into the stock fuel tank?

I've always just Teed into the filler neck on the factory tank. I use a ball valve on the auxiliary tank so when I didn't need it I turned it off. I used it to keep the trucks tank full by allowing it to free flow into the trucks tank. Whenever the fuel gauge started moving then I knew my tank in the bed was dry. Kept me from screwing with fuel lines to.

Well my bypass return line is dumped into the filler neck, but leaks pretty good and Ive got some 1/4" patch line coming outta the tank, so the tank has to be dropped anyways, Im thinking I might as well just replace all the lines while im at it, My supply line is already 3/8" so I figured Id just make the rest match up.
