steering shaft question?

is their a way to fix the slip joint in our trucks without having to buy the hole burgeson shaft like just putting your own universal in and does anybody have the sizes of the shafts and the spline count

we have an extra one and we are jus gonna experiment with it. were gonna weld up the blocks to fit and see how long that stays tight, because the bottom where the blocks sit is egged out were gonna grind it all even also, just an expiriment of what were gonna do

I may end up rebuilding mine. I've thought about the borgson just a little pricey.

that was the problem tho on mine, i bought a rebuild kit for it, but the blocks were not wore on my old one, the case itself was

I just put on a Borgeson unit on mine, it was the one that goes from the rag joint to the gear box. Well worth the $189. I was gonna re-bush mine, but this was alot easier and now I don't have four inches of slop in the steering :grin:

im not wanting to rebuild it i want to get a universal like the new bourguson shaft im taking out the slip joint

I used a joint from the shaft of 94 up gas burner dodge it was the same spline count as the first gen. It has master spline that needs to be ground out with a die grinder. I cut the rag joint off the end of mine and welded it to the newer shaft.
92W250 w/a 68D100 skin,tach, pyro, boost, trans temp guages, rebuilt a518 w/a PTC converter, 4in muffeled exhaust, 3200 gov spring, he351cw,M@H dynamic timing, 5x12s,M@H M3 pin, pump jacked with, 3.54s, 6+ lift, 14.5x36r rubber,nearly done,"What was I thinking?"
