Upper control arm

so i replaced my top and bottom ball joints on my 93 d350. come to find out that the top ones are threaded??? after i beat them out with a sledge. has anyone else done this???
91 w250 RC, getrag, 4in turbo back diamond eye
93 D350 CC, getrag, 4in diamond eye, 60# springs,3200 gov,arp's,fass 150,fass sump, BD SUPER B 58MM, 5x14 sticks, M&H timing spacer, cut fuel pin,valair clutch, auto meter pyro & boost......she screams!!
91.5 d350 RC, getrag, cut fuel pin, no bed lol "the beater"
75 dodge club cab swb flat bed 4x4 "gasser" on 37's

Heard of that happening a lot. only way to keep them in after is to tack weld them in or buy new control arms.

1983 Dodge D150 that has been repowered with a 93 Cummins/518 running gear AKA The Ugly Duck! I would much rather build them then buy them.[

Yup, me too. Pushed them out with a press and then said, "oh, siht!".

I figured the big square nut looking top would give it away that they threaded in.

Yea I saw that but when I couldn't break it loose I figured a good size hammer would fix it

Yeahhhhhh, no. I just figured it was the shape of the ball joint. Mine was so rusty anyways you coun't see where the joint ended and the A arm began. :lol:
