Sway bar end links

Postby dpuckett » Wed Jan 09, 2013 4:32 am

Where can I get some for the front of my W250? I broke one taking it off to change the leaf springs. I know, I could get some used ones, but my luck is that I'd break that one about 1/4 turn before getting it tight. There has to be some out there somewhere.

I plan to use rod ends (heims or whatever from ballistic fabrication or ruff stuff) then run them up to the bar with an adjuster sleeve and stud, and use the OEM sway bar donuts. You can buy the end link kits with donuts or just the donuts from most auto parts stores. Don't go chinese generic on these. They can't hold up to the weight that is put on them from going around turns. Moog is the best for stock replacement. Heims are nice because they allow a really fast response to the sway bar. Find one that will hold up to dirt well there are several different designs.

There's my two options for you....

I didn't even know our trucks came with sway bar in the front
Was that a factory option?

It seems to be hit or miss on sway bars. The dealer build book doesnt show any info about them or a package that had them. There are many people that have LE's with sway bars. Then the same number without.

I checked aftermarket and couldn't find anything a couple years ago. The dealer still had them in stock. If I remember right they were under $30 each.
