Borgeson shaft question.

Postby jeff77indy » Thu Jun 10, 2010 12:47 pm

Which is the best way to go double universal joints or single universal joint with the rag joint?

Thanks

You generally have to use the rag joint type if the rag joint flange is welded to the steering shaft. My 92 was removable where as my 91 was welded. Better open your hood and see what you have before you order.

Bob, thanks for the heads up on that, it would be the deciding factor.

Looks like the upper portion of the rag joint is held on by a roll pin, so I cab go either way. I had the universal/rag joint version on my '89 and was happy with it. Would the double universal any better?

I guess the rag joint single universal unit will do me.
Who has the best price for this style and a replacement rag joint center piece?
