A/C Questions

ok so i have a few questions. my 93 cools ok for the most part, but at an idle (stop light) it doesnt cool as well, and yes i understand no air moving it looses so of its umph. but other times it will cool just fine. the bad times are when i get out at the gas station and come back out and its just as hott in the truck as it is outside like its been pumping nothing but hot air. is this normal or something that i can fix easily?

Mine did the same when I got it. Went through several part house fan clutches then called a dodge dealer and got one. It made it much better but still felt as if it could be made better and bought a expantion valve. This is what fixed mine.

Oh needed to say that valve was from dodge too. Nether was cheep

hmm i may hafta look into one then. where is it on this truck? right at the evaporator?

The exp valve is. Right out side the firewall. I would check the pressures before I replaced it. I'd do the fan clutch first.

If it works sometimes and doesn't work other times in the same situations, most likely it's the expansion (or "H") valve.
