this should be arriving tomorrow! gonna have some work to do in a few weeks. anyone ever done the conversion for a small bearing 205 to a large bearing?
1990 W250 getrag, 3.07's, 60k on full rebuild, DAP 5x14's, 12cm WG, 366 spring, 2nd gen IC not hooked up yet

Seems i remember Bill and Phillip were collaborating on this, after bore job on tc case there was no case material for the seal.
93 w250 6 speed 4" exhaust, caution, work truck, she's no beauty. building 1 ton dually 4x4, dana 80, 48rh, 205 Scratch the one ton, bought frt. dually 4x4 98 12 valve with the tiny rear doors. rides so much better than the 93.

ruh roh.......well i'm find out next month some time when i tear into it :grin:
might be machining a new seal retainer too.....

its not going to work... you need the 29 spline case, the 23 cant be feasibly converted.

why spend nearly 500$ on just parts when a 29 spline case can be had for less money?

you can convert the small bearing case to the larger, i'm going to bore my case to the larger diameter.
and
1. i couldn't find a 29 spline case in my area for under $600-$900
2. my family owns a machine shop, so boring the case will cost me nothing.
3. i know the transfer case that i currently have is very sound, has had routine maintenance and has never been run out of oil etc
4. i was thinking about just running the 23-29 spline coupler but was advised against it
