I had a sae washer in hand that fit around the valve stem, but it was too thick to where the stem would not have bottomed like designed, but the spring would. I figured hey they made it this way, might as well keep it that way lol. Every spring they make for the 1-2 shift valve is the same size, and coil, just different tension. I went through my shift kit instructions the other night and found that it required me to swap the 2-3 spring out. I'm going to rummage through my box of parts and see if I can find it. Then I'm going to pull the spring from my old 727 valve body. I'll do a little comparison, because they had me change that spring for a reason. Obviously there's a difference. I know a lot of guys complain about the 1-2 shift being to soon so they modify that shift by raising it, instead of lowering the 2-3. I wonder if my kit does the opposite?? I shall dig some more.
