Installing Hydraulics. HELP!

Postby 1st_gen_fanboy » Wed Oct 12, 2016 6:27 pm

Does anyone have a manual or video on how to remove and install the clutch master/slave cylinder. first time doing it and I cant find anything to at least get me going. mainly puzzled how the snap ring on the push pin comes off. hardly any room in there to work. thanks in advance.

If your retainer clip is like mine, its not a snap ring. There's a portion that curls around like a scorpions tail and prevents the clip from sliding off by resting against the pin. Take a little flathead and gently pry this portion up then the clip should slide off, also unplug the neutral interlock switch while you're in there. From the engine side of firewall, pull the grommet on the master cylinder back, pry the locking tab back (again gently so it doesn't snap off) and twist the master cylinder then it should be free.

Thanks for reminding me of so much pain and suffering.
Inspect the pin on the clutch peddle for wear. Mine was worn half way through by the master cylinder rod which now had a slot instead of a hole. I was able to weld up the pin and grind it round again.
