Let me start by saying what I have recently done on my truck.
Turns out I had a t-case stud broken off sometime, along with most of the nuts being loose, a couple of trips to Ohio from Florida(all those long highway miles and bumpy northern roads) and the last trip up I pulled into the family driveway and behold the seeping tranny fluid beneath the truck, so for an emergency fix thank you Billy mays for the flex seal in a can and rtv I put enough of that on the od housing crack to stop the leak to hold it on the drive back to FL. And it did hold the leak in but I knew I was running on borrowed time.
I got my od housing out and a new od housing and gave it to Ernie at Suncoast ( I don't have a press for the 800lb spring) which I am thankful enough that I live ten minutes away from.. He said the person that put this together last, put it together backwards so that was good to know. 60 bucks and 15 minutes later I had a new od housing with all my old clutches back in a non cracked unit. Tried putting the od housing back on and the splines weren't lined up inside so I got him to realign them and he gave me an intermediate shaft to stick in there to make sure it all stayed tight. Next day I put it all back together, I was a little confused about how to make sure the park rod engages with the park pawl properly but I kinda just guided it in the hole, and I figured if I didn't have a problem with the housing bolting up to the Trans then then my park rod was probably where it needed to be.
I went to start it and It drives and goes into the gears fine only there are no detents for the shifter. My od works fine thanks to my tps delete I already had. I took my pan off and got a friend to cycle through the gears and I can just see that park rod moving freely in and out. Also the truck has almost no power in reverse and I know my fluid level is correct I checked it hot after I drove it.
Just wondering if anyone has had this issue maybe they can shed a little light on the subject, maybe I'm missing something. I just invested in a 93 shop manual from genos garage and I'm gonna see if it has any info about the comb.
Thanks Yall.
