Something Strange

Postby opofus » Sun Oct 05, 2008 6:46 pm

A strange thing happened, My ABS and Brake lights have been on since I bought the truck about 3 months ago. This week I replaced the booster and master cylinder. The lights went off.

Very Odd.

When it comes to those two lights, I find that they tend to make the least amount of trouble if I turn around three times while making "whoop whoop" noises with both my hands cupped around my ears before I enter the vehicle.

When my master cylinder goes out every couple months or so, the lights tend to come on. They also tend to come on at random all the other times I don't turn around three times while making "whoop whoop" noises with both my hands cupped around my ears before I enter the vehicle, though.

Could it be

Postby opofus » Mon Oct 06, 2008 12:25 pm

that the master cylinder was not releasing the brakes fully, which would account for the terrible gas mileage. I was getting 16. Now am going to push 18. (replacement was done mid tank). I think the next tank I will get about 20 or 21.

I unplugged the black box behind the glove box and the lights are out, never to return.
