other then then having to shift how would they stack up to each other as far a power they can handle, power they can put to the ground, speed of shift and reliabilty?

Manual vb would be my choice for that application.

Manual valve bodies kick ass.

Might want to spool up, launch and hold it in second gear during a pull??

Thanks guys. So will a Manual VB be more reliable and put down more power or not?

It shouldn't make any diffrence in putting down power, but it will be as reliable as the operator.

Depending on the Transgo kit you buy, you will have the option of converting your VB to full manual or not. No matter what you do definately put an updated manual valve in there. That'll solve the BS drainback issue the oem one provided... Or maybe it is the throttle valve, can't remember now, somebody will surely set me straight on here...

It's the manual valve you change to get the converter fill in park. You will get very tired of a full manual VB in a column shift vehicle if you drive it much, btdt. I did like a full manual vb in the old push button 727 cars.
93 w250 6 speed 4" exhaust, caution, work truck, she's no beauty. building 1 ton dually 4x4, dana 80, 48rh, 205 Scratch the one ton, bought frt. dually 4x4 98 12 valve with the tiny rear doors. rides so much better than the 93.
