hey guys im going to be fixing a tranny line tomoroand figured i would change the fluid and filter while im already greasy. so drop the pan and put a new filter on? or sd there a way to get more fluid out of the tranny or do i need to? ATF +4 correct? any additives i can add or should i? thanks guys

I would say since you are draining about half the fluid, refill with what you took out. Unless ATFs can mix and match.

I wouldnt put any additives in the tranny. Most additives (beyond fuel lube) are snake oils, or band-aids to bypass a real issue.

alright fixed the tranny line. i dropped the pan first then did the line so it would drip out as much as possible. put back in just under 7 quarts of ATF +4 vavloline full synthetic. the tranny seems like it is alot quieter and holds great now. my temps are alot lower now also and stays like that

i just blew a line on my cooler the other day covered the whole bottom of the truck and the trailer i was pulling tranny was empty when i realized, i think my 727 is on its way out :(

thats why i love havin a gauge for the tranny. its very nice for towing
