Symptom:
From 'cold' say 50 degrees+/- with battery voltage of over 12.6 volts the starter motor turns normally and the engine starts very quickly.
At even slightly lower voltage the starter engages momentarily and then the solenoid clicks rapidly. If a large, fully charged battery is used to 'jump' it starts immediately.
I presume this means the Denso starter solenoid is marginal-a common problem ? Or connections/conductors to it have a large voltage drop.
I would like to do a complete fix. I found 2 projects to do.
1. replace the relay with the LarryB kit

excellent Instructions: http://startercontacts.com/relay.htm
Any reason not to just use a generic 50 or 60 amp SPDT relay with harness and wire it myself?
2. Repair the solenoid with larger contacts -Geno's kit

Is there anything else I should upgrade/modify and are these 2 kits the best to use?
This seems clever but unecessary ?

Thanks for any suggestions.
