Finally got a pump rebuilt for this thing by a shop in northern Mississippi. Supposed to be throwing factory fuel now per the bench. That's where it'll stay.
Hope to have it on during the holidays

The "good used" injection pump I put on this truck bit the dust. So I face punched the cummins and ripped the thing off like I was scorpion off of mortal kombat.

Gonna skip a tooth on the pump gear again.....like I had it before, should have never touched that. Then throw this newly rebuilt pump on with the 3800k rpm spring. Screw stock fuel too......I'm jacking it back up so this truck pulls respectable again......I'll just have to get use to replacing ujoints.

It's alive! Revs like a gas burner again......and no haze,no rough idle. Best of all.....no damn diesel leak making a mess under the truck
Didn't get to drive it today as there was a tore down ford behind it,hopefully tomorrow during lunch I'll take it for a ride for a little afc/fuel screw adjustment.

It was before I installed the pump I just removed. I thought I'd put the old engine back to close to stock only to find out the pump sucked and had the truck weak as hell.
I have a feeling this will work out for the best......I actually thing it needs even more timing, but I'll need to baby step this till I get it on the road, under a load. I hook the ksb to the hot post on the battery and seemed to run even smoother idling.

Stronger than the chev? Do you only have pump tweaks for power?

Yes. The dodge has a lot of improvements over the Chevy. Lots more fuel going to it than the 24ver

Now that I have some time to type this out......the dodge as it sits now, fuel wise.
3800rpm spring
Buildup/ground factory intercooled pin.....
Fuel screw two turns from bottomed
Afc top has the stop land ground out of it to allow the fuel pin to rise as high as possible
Afc star wheel almost to the top

For pump mods that's about it

The real reason the truck is stronger than the Chevy.....injectors. The dodge has some honed second gen ppump injectors that I got Eric Gilbert to have done for me. Think 5x11.5 from the 5x10 size that they were in the ppump motor I robbed the tips from. The Chevy has the stock vp44 24v injectors......not big at all,but enough to make it roll respectably.

In a foot race the two would probably be neck and neck because I won't shift the dodges getrag fast enough.

I have a lot of tuning to do on the afc.....little peddle pressure is needed to smoke like a coal fired train.
