93 cummins

Postby DIESELPOWER89 » Wed Apr 13, 2016 4:33 pm

Hello everyone. I have a 93 and I am trying to figure out the best set up to run. I know the 14mm pump head and a set of bigger injectors is a must. My question is what size injectors and what brand. I do daily drive the truck but also have two other cars. I am fully restoring it but would like to make over 400hp. Any one have some advise?

You don't "need" a 14mm head. A good turbo/injector combo with a decent fuel supply and you'll be really close to your goals.
Go to the hungry diesels website and contact the owner Eric Gilbert. Ask his opinion.....he won't bullschit you or sell you something that you'll regret buying.

Thankyou! Now when you say fuel supply you mean like an airdog 165? And I have the hx40w turbo and ATS exhaust manifold with 4inch exhaust

You can hit 400hp on a piston lift pump. No need to spend $600 on an Airdog. If you want to go with an aftermarket electric pump setup, the AD would be my choice though.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Like I said contact Eric. He has a low pressure high volume piston lift pump that'll support what you want. Pete is right, air dog would be a really good choice.......for electric supply or if you have money to burn.

Agree on the airdog if you were to go electric, as well as the THD pump if you went mechanical.. My friend ran varying amounts of WMO for over 125k on his 92 with an AD. It crapped out about 3 months ago (I believe he'd run the airdog for about 6 years), and they sent him a new airdog II free of charge.
