Postby Collers9640 » Fri Oct 13, 2017 11:15 pm

Does anyone have any advice before I change my cab bushing. Like how to percent them from squeaking!!

Has anyone found a company that makes rubber body mount bushings?

About the only thing to try. Like grease it will go away after a while.

If you are fussy about the ride don't put in the urethane bushings! They are stiff and transmit a lot of vibrations right to the cab. I put in a set because my mounts were squashed down and shot, and have regretted it ever since. If yours are still good, try that stuff Philip listed. The mounts that actually support the body are no longer available, but some of the bottom ones are. I looked last summer because I was going to change mine back.

I know that polyurethane comes is different levels of hardness.
I wonder what hardness companies like Prothane are using.
I’m going to do some research to see if a softer polyurethane can be used without compromising the structural integrity of the bushing.
I’m confident that we might be able to make our own bushing provided that a good poly can be found.

Stay away from grease on the poly/urethane bushings....I did this on my cab mounts, and even after tightening them down excessively the cab was still shifting on the mounts due to the grease. Eventually had to remove the mushing one at a time, clean everything up and re-install dry....cab has been secure ever since.

I got the Energy suspension set. I know they are stiff, I didn't know about the different polys.

I wonder if a layer or two of a pc of inner tube cut to size/shape would help? (Top and bottom)
