Though I'd do a little show on my cab swap.

Then the inside shop

Here's an inside look at the cab. Nice holes in the floor, huh?

In the last pic, don't mind that little spot at the lower right of the hole. Somebody wasn't paying attention and cut on the wrong line! It took me close to an hour to weld that back up and grind it sorta smooth. I'm sure the undercoating didn't help. 110 MIGs are crappy! ;-)

I thought you was putting on the new cab to get away from the holes. ;) Look's good pete, that job takes up some time!!!! Weld you a flange on your tunnel and put some of them fastenrs that the drag racers use on it,that would make easy acess to the ole 5sp.

my 77 powerwagon and my 54 m37 both have that , a bolt in transmission tunnel .....

kind of surprised that dodge did away with it in the later models .

Looks good Pete!

That rust area on the floor of the first cab, that was how big the hole was in my floor  The rubber mats kept me from going under.

The donor floor, is an 86. It had the pressed marks where the floor would be cut out for a standard. I followed those, for the most part.
Matt, dzus fittings? Ever price those? I know you wouldn't buy 'em! :money:

Thanks Daryl, You're about the 3rd person to boost my confidence way up! :grrr:
Actually, I don't think it's that bad. The floor I was dreading, but that took about 4 hours, total time. Swapping stuff is easy, I just wish I had more room to work. Everything inside 1 room would be the bomb! :bom:

If you could just figure out how to get some of the oil the tranny was collecting over on the other side of the frame rail.... I finaly figured out where the water was coming in at that used to drip on my left knee and also on my turn signal lever, the caulk in the driprail was cracked. I smoothed some gray silicone RTV in there and no more leaks. :D

Tim, I tried that with mine, it was the window leaking. I'm sure that's what did the floor in.

My girlfriend and I were looking at one of our 1stGens the other day, and thought it looked like plain RTV silicone caulk under the flaking paint, but thought "nah, cant be." Is it really siliconed, then painted? If so, I'm bringing about 4 tubes home from work this weekend and having fun with some Scotchbrite and rattle cans. I have two, maybe three trucks that need attention. Be nice to get the floors dry and keep them that way. Especially if we keep getting 8-12" of rain per week.
