I needed the brackets and will use the frame i cut off as a template. It was easier yo cut it off then try to drill rivets at the junk yard. I can grind them down and knock them out at the shop.

Gotcha. I was thinking it might be better to fishplate and weld.

No that's too much work for me. I have to order bushings for springs and shackles out front. Does anyone know what size the u-joint is on the 9.25?

So since buying the 99 some things have changed in my plans for this. It gets to keep the Cummins for starters but a lot of other things will change. These will be future parts of the Duck.

This frame will be shortened and the Ducks body will be dropped on it along with the above 47RH.

Well I've been back to driving the Duck daily. I had to reseal the vac pump yesterday. It decided to blow out the big o ring and dump a gallon of oil on my way to work.

God I hate rust. I'm about fed up with trying to keep a body around the drivetrain on this thing.

Know the feeling. I oil coat all my vehicles now. Fluid film, bar chain oil, etc...

Seems to work well.

This was the solid cab I put on it a few years ago. I can't find parts around here for it. I'm really getting fed up.

Hell No! No bed liner, plastic dip or flat black paint for me. It looks like sthi and I'd rather scrap the truck then doing something like that.

That's about the worst thing one could do. Not only is it extremely difficult to remove if applied correctly, all it does is keep moisture trapped. Remember, it only coats the outside, the inside is still left unaffected, and these trucks rust from the inside out
You see it around here, new truck off the lot gets the "off road pkg". Coated bed and typically the lower body line down, as well as around the wheel wells. Guaranteed after 2 years, nothings left but the liner. Rockers, cab corners, door bottoms, all rotted away

Coating the outside doesn't do a darn thing since the roofs on these trucks rot out from the inside ;)

Finally broke down yesterday and pulled the transmission in the Duck. Rear main was pouring oil out. Found several other repairs it needed to. My stomach ended up all messed up again so I will have to wait a few days to do anything else to it.
