The truck is an 85 I picked it up on craigs list for $1000! I had a nother crew cab F-350 I was going to do the swap on but it sat to long without a motor an ex gf broke the windshield and I ended up parting it out.

Here are pics of the progress so far.

The motor came out of a 93 D350 I wish I had pics of the truck but here is a video.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GAStTOA0HM. At the time I drove tow trucks and the truck came to the yard as a DUI I got it from my boss for $500. It ran amazing I drove the **** out of it for several months until the getrag got stuck in 4th gear. I than drove it for another month in 4th gear until the clutch burned out.

Image
As it sits now. Killing the KDP and resealing everything.

THe NV4500 was another sweet deal. Its got some rust from sitting for the last 3 years but it should clean up nice. Another craigs list score $500. The trans has been rebuilt and has the updated 5th gear nut.

I love those old Ford's. I had an 86 I regret selling everyday.

Always liked the fender flares on a Ford dually, they have bulk to them.
I take it you're planning on tabbing a dowel pin, at least?

Don't forget to take that wrench outta the intake, you'll tear your hair out trying to find that rattle in it!

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

I did that on a small block once. Put the intake on and then pulled my hair out looking for all the missing tools. Took the intake off and it had lots of wrenches and a ratchet. It was a late night.

Yes tabing the dowel pin pulling the pump to make installation of the 366 spring easier and doing a new seal in the front.

Motor looking good all ready to drop in.
Image
Valair 13inch fly wheel and clutch. 400hp and 900ftlbs
Image
mmm all ready to roll. Take not of the $100 used clutch fork I had to buy because I didnt think I would need the getrag one from the parts truck.
Image
Almost in thank god for a fork lift.
Image
Need to finish the engine compartment.. and figure out what color I want to paint my valve covers.
Image
Looks like I will need to go in from behind to make room for a 4 inch DP

Now the the motor is in the easy part is out of the way.

Red valve covers and injection lines it is.

I need to re-clock the turbo but running the manifold upsidedown gave me more than enough room.

Not to be a downer but that ZF5 is a better trans than the NV4500...
