Well yanked the cummins out last night. Thanks to 1stgenfarmboy and his son we had it out without much trouble. I would have probably been out there all night if it werent for them.

The 1/2 ton hoist would lift the motor and trans but that was it. Another pound and it crapped out so I found an old cable hoist to take some weight of the electric hoist. A 1000lb hoist lifting well over 1000lbs who could complain... That rating stamped in the side is just a suggestion anyway right!

Had a good time Tory, it's always fun to yank stuff apart.

4 hours total time counting brakes, breaks, and breakage from a running and driving truck to
front clip off and engine and trans out ain't to bad i don't think.

now come the hard part for you.

My shocks, steering stabilizer, and some more polyurethane bushings for the sway bar and frame shackle bushings yesterday. Just got confirmation that my rear springs shipped out today and theyll be here tomorrow. Also ordered my fuel pump and -6AN braided fuel line and fittings today, they should be here Friday. Ended up going with a Carter 4601 from summit.

Also picked up a getrag360 and 205 case with some other goodies thanks to Bill Gilbert.

The goal for this week and weekend is to have to motor mocked up in the truck and the trans rebuilt. We will see how it goes though.. :?

Anyone have any suggestions on a clutch?

Are you going to repaint the truck as well?
